Dear Friends,
A very bad piece of legislation has been introduced in Springfield. House Bill 5615 does a lot of terrible things. We must defeat this legislation. Call, write and email your state representative and state senator and ask him or her to vote NO on House Bill 5615. Our message to legislators details the worst of the bill:
"House Bill 5615 disallows any regulation of abortion; it provides public funds through Medicaid for abortion; it drives people morally opposed to abortion from the health care industry; and it mandates comprehensive sex education for every child in Illinois' public schools, K-12. HB 5615 is far outside the mainstream. Please vote NO on House Bill 5615."
The real intent of this bill seems to be to ensure all abortions remain legal and drive people who disagree from the field of health care. Mandating that children begin sex education at 5 years old seems almost an afterthought.
