ST. BARBARA SCHOOL
THURSDAY TIDBIT

Gods Words Guide Us

October 27, 2005

PRINCIPAL NOTES:  Coming home today under separate cover is a permission slip for use by our school website coordinators.  Please be sure to fill it out and return it to school by Monday, October 31st.   Your cooperation in this matter will be greatly appreciated.   If you haven’t logged onto our school website, www.stbarbaraschool.com please do so.  If you have logged onto our website, please visit it again!  You are able to view current and past tidbits and volunteer online for Casino Nights among other things.   Feel free to contact the school via the contact form on the site too!

Speaking of volunteering for Casino Nights….We are in need of dealers!  If you haven’t ever dealt before, don’t let that stop you!  We will spend time training anyone who wants to learn!  Your volunteering for all of these big events helps to keep our tuition cost down.

ID kits will also be coming home today with each student.  We do have extras in the school office if any parent would like more for younger children at home.  I’d like to thank the Cicero Police Department for supplying these to our school.

Candy sale credit information is being sent home today under separate cover.

I hope you’re all planning on dressing up and walking with the students in our Annual Halloween Parade.  Kick-off will be at 11:00 on October 31st!   This will be a half-day of school.

Thank you to the many volunteers for once again bringing us a wonderful evening at Oktoberfest.  The music, food, fellowship were great.  Thanks for supporting St. Barbara School and Parish.

Now that the colder weather is upon us, please dress your child appropriately for recess.  Students are not allowed in the school building during recess.

GOD’S WORDS GUIDE US:  For the weeks of October 10th through October 21st thanks to the students who have shown through their actions that God’s words have guided them.

OCTOBER IS RESPECT LIFE MONTH:  Baby Bottles for Life
All baby bottles should be returned to school by November 4.  There will also be collection boxes in church at all the masses on November 5 & 6.  Remember, WomanCare reuses the bottles for future fundraisers so it is important to return all the bottles.  Thank you in advance for your prayers and sacrificial donations.  Thank you for helping women to choose life.

“A culture which no longer has a point of reference in God loses its soul and loses its way, becoming a culture of death.”      Pope John Paul II
