God’s Words Guide Us

November 10, 2005

PRINCIPAL NOTES:  Please sign, complete and return the postcard coming home today under separate cover.  DO NOT MAIL IT.  We will send them in bulk to our state representative to show our support of Opportunity Scholarship Act House Bill 1577.  Please read the sheet entitled “Give Us a Choice” postcard campaign.  If passed, this Bill will save each of you money on your taxes.

Thank you, Thank you! ALL of our volunteers who worked so hard to make Casino Nites the greatest success ever!  What a crowd!  1,200 people came and enjoyed themselves over 2 nights!  Thanks on behalf of myself, the faculty and staff, and the KIDS!

Anita from Katy, Texas wants to extend her sincerest thanks to all who made donations to help the Hurricane Katrina victims.

For the safety of our school children, we will now be putting cones by the alley behind school due to people speeding through the alley and creating an unsafe situation.  We ask, once again, that people not use the faculty parking lot or alley to transport their children to school.

Parents, please do not bring dogs with you while you are dropping off and/or picking up your child.  Some parents have expressed concern and are worried about the safety of their children.  Many people are afraid of dogs and have allergies to them.  Your cooperation is appreciated.

During Parent / Teacher Conferences this Sunday, please take some time to view the students' art work which will be displayed in our Art Room and stop in at FSA’s Home Show in the Windemere Room.   Remember, there is no school on Monday.

CASINO NIGHTS BREAKS RECORDS AGAIN!  A big huge thank you to all the hard working 2005 Casino Night volunteers.  You did a great job under tremendously busy circumstances.  We were bulging at the seams!  We were busy from open to close and you all did not let us down~Thanks.  We broke our own record with an estimated 1,200 people walking through our doors over the weekend!  Thank You.

FOOD DRIVE FOR SR. MARGARET:  In addition to the items listed on the monthly calendar, Sr. Margaret is in desperate need of additional items for Thanksgiving.  Please feel free to substitute items for the following:  Stove Top stuffing, canned yams, canned cranberry sauce, disposable plates and silverware, instant mashed potatoes.  Thanks for your generosity!

PIES FOR SR. MARGARET is a separate fund raiser we do every year.  The pies are donated by you via the form enclosed.  We take that money and order the pies through Market Day.  This helps Sr. Margaret and the school because we receive the $1.50 back per pie just like if you ordered pies for yourself via the Market Day form.  You are not only helping families that would otherwise go without, you are also helping our children.  Everyone wins!

GOD’S WORDS GUIDE US:  For the weeks of October 24th through November 4th thanks to the students who have shown through their actions that God’s words have guided them.

BABY BOTTLES FOR LIFE:  Baby bottles can still be returned to the school office. "Help build a world where human life is always loved and defended, every form of violence banished."  2005 U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, Respect Life Program
