ST. BARBARA SCHOOL
THURSDAY TIDBIT

God’s Words Guide Us                                    March 30, 2006

PRINCIPAL NOTES: On Tuesday, April 4th, at 7:30 we are holding an Open Forum meeting in the Parish Center. Keeping all of our school families’ best interest in mind, our School Board has been working hard on next year’s tuition rates. Please show your support of our School Board members by being present at this Open Forum. We continue to work together for the good of your children and St. Barbara School.

I want to thank the 8th graders for holding the upcoming Easter egg raffle (flier enclosed) to benefit the people of Fr. Mark’s village in Uganda. Fr. Mark was an Associate Priest here at St. Barbara’s for a few years. He is presently on the faculty at Quigley High School. We continue to remember him, his family, and the school children of Uganda.

Please try to join us for Stations of the Cross each Friday during Lent at 7:30 p.m. in Church.

SCHOOL BOARD NEWS: The Community Forum is Tuesday, April 4th, at 7:30 p.m. in the gym. It is important for our school families to attend in order to see what next year's tuition rates will be as well as fundraising and volunteer requirements. Babysitting will be available.

TUITION REMINDER: March tuition was due on the 17th. Please be advised, as stated in the Parent/Student Handbook, K-8th report cards will be distributed in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th quarters provided tuition payments are current. Please have all payments current no later than Thursday, April 6th in order for your child to receive their report card on Friday, April 7th. Otherwise, report cards will not be distributed to your child/children. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Angela Lawler at 485-6151.

8TH GRADE NEWS: The 8th graders will be performing their annual play this Saturday night, April 1st, at 7:00 in the gym. This will be the only performance. Don’t miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see our 8th graders in action!

HOT LUNCH: Order forms for May/June have been sent home with each student today. Menus are included in this tidbit. Orders are due April 12th. NO LATE ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Any questions, please call Nancy Brown, 387-7334.

MARKET DAY: Thank you to everyone that ordered this month. We exceeded our goal and won the freezer! The freezer will be delivered in May and presented to the FSA Board. A special thank you to our 2nd graders and their parents. Your help in running this month’s Market Day was amazing! p.s. April is pie month. The pictures on the form will make your mouth water!

BOX TOP OLYMPICS UPDATE: Last Friday was our second collection of Box Tops. Included in today’s tidbit is a chart of the overall rankings of the classroom sport teams based on the total points earned. Make sure to read the back of it for BONUS opportunities that were given to the teams this week. The next collection of the classroom bottles will be on Friday, April 7th. Thanks for your support.
