ST. BARBARA SCHOOL
THURSDAY TIDBIT

Surprise Someone With a Random Act of Kindness September 14, 2006

PRINCIPAL NOTES: Tomorrow, Friday, September 15th, we will begin attending the 8:00 a.m. Mass on all Friday mornings when school is in session. We ask that the children come into the school building at 7:50 a.m. The teacher will take the entire class to the church by 8:00. The Eucharist unites us as a Catholic Faith Community. We hope to instill this spirit within our children. I appreciate your support of Catholic education.

On regular school days, students should be lined up outside of school no later than 8:30 in the morning to say the Pledge of Allegiance with the entire student body. If your child is coming into school late, he/she should stop at the office for a tardy slip from Mrs. Carone. Parents, please DO NOT walk your child to their classroom. We are trying to teach your child responsibility. By now every student is familiar with the school building and should have no problem finding their classroom. Class begins immediately at 8:30 a.m. If any parent wishes to speak with a teacher, they should leave a message in the school office. The teacher will call them to set up a time which is convenient for both parties to meet or talk.

I once again ask that you follow our parking / drop-off procedures. Please do not use the alley or parking lot behind the school. I’ve had complaints of people dropping their child off in the alley and speeding through the alley. This creates a potentially dangerous situation for our school children. Also, please do not drop your child off on Prairie Avenue near Windemere. This blocks the view of our crossing guard and endangers the children.

The above procedures are in place for the safety of your children. We appreciate your cooperation in these matters.

I am pleased to inform you that our Spring Casino Nights brought in a profit of $8,370 which will be used to help keep tuition costs down. I want to thank the Casino Night Chairpeople along with everyone who volunteered their time to make this event a great success!

I am also happy to inform you that through your shopping sprees, and choosing our school to benefit each time you use your Target charge card, St. Barbara School has received a check in the amount of $344.83 from Target. We also received checks totaling $926.60 from Box Tops for Education. Thanks to all who helped with the Box Tops Program.

We will be having our annual Police Blessing on Monday, September 25th outside of school at 8:30 a.m. Any police officer is most welcome to join us.

Thanks to FSA for the magnetic calendars. If you did not receive one, please contact the school office.
