OCTOBER IS RESPECT LIFE MONTH-October 1st is Respect Life Sunday:
Celebration of Life Mass, St. Hyacinth Basilica, 3636 W. Wolfram St, Chicago, IL 60618, Saturday, September 30, at 7pm. Come celebrate the sanctity of all human life during the 3rd annual Chicago Archdiocesan Respect Life Office Celebration of Life Mass. At the end of Mass, everyone is invited to venerate the relics of St. Gianna Beretta Molla, a pro-life saint, wife, mother, and doctor. Please note that His Eminence Cardinal George has told us that he will resume his public appearances after October 1st, but if he’s feeling well enough, he will attend this mass in some capacity. He will be sending his Vicar General, the Very Reverend John Canary as principal celebrant. Reception to follow. For more information, call 312-751-5355.

LIFE CHAIN 2006: On Sunday, October 1, meet at Prairie and Ogden Avenues from 2:30pm to 3:30pm for an annual gathering of all faiths and walks of life who stand in peaceful and prayerful witness that abortion is not a good choice for women and their unborn babies. Bring your families and your neighbors to stand with us as we silently and lovingly proclaim that abortion is not a solution…it is a crucial mistake. It is through prayer that we will succeed in changing hearts and minds. Try to arrive by 2:15pm to park and take your position. Plenty of parking is available in the Parish Center lot. Bring a chair if you need to. Signs will be provided for those who wish to hold one. May the Lord richly bless you for your stand against the killing of our unborn children and the spiritual and emotional crippling of America’s women.

NEWS FROM THE 8TH GRADE.....Our annual wrapping paper/candle sale is underway! Please send all orders to the office for processing. We will have samples of the products after all the Masses this weekend. Remember the deadline for ordering is Thursday, October 12th. If you have any questions regarding the sale, you can contact Donna Sukacz at 387-7042. Thank you in advance for supporting the 8th grade class.

YEARBOOK VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers are still needed for the following pages: PS-3, PS-4, Kindergarten, 2nd Grade, Communion, and Track. If interested, please contact Dawn at 485-6645 ASAP.

MARKET DAY: Help us win a freezer by ordering from Market Day this month! If we get 100 or more total orders, our school will receive a FREE freezer! Order forms are enclosed in today’s tidbit.

POP TOPS FROM CANS: We continue to collect the pop tops from pop cans, etc. These are donated to the Ronald McDonald House where out-of-area families stay while their seriously ill children are in the hospital. This is a wonderful cause and very easy to contribute to. You can collect and send in pop tops in a baggie or some kind of container throughout the year. They will be dropped off by the girl scouts. Thanks for your help!
