ST. BARBARA SCHOOL
THURSDAY TIDBIT
Surprise Someone With a Random Act of Kindness            February 15, 2007

PRINCIPAL NOTES: Parents, please be aware that there will be no available parking in the Parish Center parking lot on Tuesday, February 20th, at 2:45 dismissal. We are hosting an Archdiocesan meeting next Tuesday from 1:00 – 4:00. Please make other arrangements with your child for pick-up.

Terra Nova testing will begin on Tuesday for all students in grades 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 8th. Parents, please make sure that your children get a good night sleep and eat a good breakfast, especially during the testing weeks.

Students should not have head phones, cell phones, toys, etc. in school. Any items deemed inappropriate will be taken away and will only be returned in June upon the request of the parent. This also includes Ipods and other MP3 players. We ask that children not bring expensive items to Extended Day to avoid having them lost or broken.

Remember we have no school this Friday and next Monday. Enjoy the long weekend!

COMEDY FOR CATHERINE: A former school mom was diagnosed with breast cancer. Tim and Catherine Sheridan-Walsh have four children; two of them, Juliana and Brianna, attended school at St. Barbara until they moved to Plainfield. Tim and Catherine are wonderful people and will always be a part of the St. Barbara School family. There is a flyer in today’s tidbit with information on a Comedy Night with the proceeds benefiting the Walsh family. Tickets can be purchased through school. Donations can also be sent directly to the Catherine Sheridan-Walsh Family Fund, at Mid America Bank, 13470 S. Route 59, Plainfield, IL 60585.

DUNKIN DONUTS COFFEE: Due to the inclement weather, coffee orders will be given out next week. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

MANNA CERTIFICATE PROGRAM: Effective immediately, JoAnn Fabric gift cards are temporarily unavailable. You will be notified when they become available again.

• Please congratulate St. Barbara's Girls Basketball All-stars.
• Please keep Saturday, February 24, 2007 in mind for Sports pictures. Order forms along with picture schedule will be coming home today under separate cover. The Track and Field team will also be photographed that day along with cheerleading, basketball and volleyball.

SUPER BOWL CONTEST: Just a reminder that the "St. Barbara Super Bowl" contest ends next Friday, February 23rd, so please turn in all your items soon. Thanks for your support of these programs. Also, don't forget to save the UPC's from Sunny D products so we can earn books from Scholastic for each classroom. (These will not be counted in the Super Bowl contest.)

FSA COOKBOOK: If you pre-ordered a cookbook(s), payment is now due. Payment must be received to guarantee you receive the number of books that you want. The cost is $15.00 per book; checks should be made payable to St. Barbara FSA. Our cookbook now has a title, Knights in the Kitchen! Congratulations to Vicky Curtin, who won the Name the Cookbook Contest. Thank you to all of the students who entered. They were all great suggestions!
