PRINCIPAL NOTES: Thank you to Mr. Phil Enns, our Band Director, and to our Cadet and Concert Band members for the wonderful performances on Tuesday. Thanks to the parents for encouraging their children to participate in our school band and for helping with hospitality. It would be nice to see more students take advantage of the opportunity of learning a musical instrument under the direction of Mr. Enns.
Our band students work hard and it’s apparent by the talent shown.
Mark your calendars for our Parish Mission on March 15th-19th. Seventh and eighth graders needing service hours or just wanting to help out may consider volunteering for the following: Babysitting (in the cry room) during the Parish Mission from 7:30 - 8:45 p.m. Setup and cleanup for hospitality in Prairie Rooms A & B each night of the Parish Mission. Anyone interested in helping should call Deacon Dave Brencic at 708-485-6614.
Please plan on attending the Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent in church at 7:30 p.m.
Food donations are accepted year-round for Sr. Margaret’s shelter. She can also use toiletries, i.e. hand soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc. Any donations can be brought to the school office.
Parents, please see that your children are here on time everyday, but especially on Friday mornings so as not to disrupt the 8:00 a.m. Mass. We enjoy going to church as a Catholic faith community.
WE ARE CALLED TO SERVE: These students have demonstrated their willingness to serve others through the weeks of February 2nd - February 13th: [see paper/email/tidbit]

CASH RAFFLE WINNER: Congratulations to Jackie G. on winning the February drawing.
DUNKIN DONUT COFFEE ORDERS were in last week's tidbit and they are due tomorrow. Order forms are available on the school website.
THANK YOU MR. B.! The 7th graders had the opportunity last week to go to Mr. B's workplace (Nate in 1st grade' s dad). He works at the Dirksen Federal Building. They had such an amazing day! Since they are learning about the United States Constitution, they had the chance to sit in on a court case and speak with the District Court judge afterwards. He really informed them about our judicial system. It was a great day and we thank you Mr. B. for setting it up for us!
DR. SEUSS DAY! The entire school will celebrate the birthday of author Theodore Geisel, the creator of Dr. Seuss, with Silly Hat Day on Monday, March 2nd. Bring a silly hat to school to wear the whole day to honor this wonderful author.
