PRINCIPAL NOTES: Please note that everyone who attends a Virtus meeting must still complete the Virtus updates that you receive via email. You must read the article and answer the questions in order to remain active. Once you sign onto www.Virtus.org look under the My Training tab. On the right hand side you will see Training Bulletin Report. Click on click here to see your complete report. Under Training Bulletins click on click here for details. From there you can open each training bulletin, read and answer the questions at the end of the bulletin. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Carone.
It’s not too late to purchase your ticket for $22 to St. Barbara's Oktoberfest to be held on Saturday, October 17th. The price will go up to $30 if purchased after October 11th, so don’t wait too long! Tickets are available in the school office or by calling Al P. See flyer on our website. Think about getting a group of friends together for a very enjoyable evening!
Remember that there will not be school on Monday. Enjoy your long weekend!
SHINING STARS FOR THE FUTURE: For the weeks of September 14th - 25th, these students have set a good example to others by demonstrating good behavior and showing respect: [see paper/email tidbit]. They can be out-of-uniform tomorrow!
TRANSPORTATION REIMBURSEMENT: Unfortunately the State of Illinois notified us that funds are not available to pay the transportation reimbursement for last school year. Anyone who filed a claim with Mrs. Carone at the end of last school year will not be receiving a check in December. Enclosed is a copy of the letter which we received from the State of Illinois.
MANNA NEWS: Next week is a short week BUT we will still place an order. Orders are due Tuesday, October 13th by 1:00. Certificates will be available by the end of the school day on Thursday, October 15th. Remember there is no school on Friday. If you normally have your certificates held for pick-up and you will not be here by 3:15 on Thursday, please call Cathy K BEFORE THURSDAY to make arrangements for pick-up.
TRIVIA IS BACK! You can find the entry forms on the school website or call the school office.
· Junior High Trivia for kids grades 5th - 8th on Friday, October 23rd. Entry at 6:30pm, starts at 7:00pm. Cash prizes to 1st, 2nd & 3rd place teams. $10 per person entry fee. Pizza and snacks provided for participants. Teams from other schools are turning in their forms. Hurry and get your form in before it fills up!
· Mighty Kids Trivia for preschoolers - 4th graders on Sunday, Oct. 25th from 1:00 - 3:00pm. Teams of 4 students. $5.00 per student. Call Cathy K.
· Adult Trivia - event is for adults 21 years and older. Saturday, Oct. 24th, doors open at 6:00pm, trivia starts at 7:00pm. Teams of 6 people max., $10 per person. Cash prizes, food & cash bar.
CASINO NIGHT FLYERS NEED TO BE DISTRIBUTED: Please help if you are available. We are looking for people to help distribute Casino Night flyers at LTHS' Homecoming Parade on Saturday, Oct 10th at about 9:30 am. If you wouldn't mind spending an hour or two helping, please call Chris. Thank you in advance for your help.
FSA NEWS: There are still spots open for Club Scrappin! Turn in your form and payment by Friday, October 9th, which is our first club date. Also, Trunk or Treat is set for Friday, October 30th. More information will follow.
ALEX & ALDO'S Italian Restaurant, 720 E. 31st Street, LaGrange Park, IL will be having a benefit night for St. Barbara's on the second Sunday of the month, October 11th. All eat-in, carry-out or delivery will apply.
BUNCO PARTY! The St. Barbara CCW is having their Fall Bunco Party on Sunday, October 11th, at 1:00 P.M. in the Parish Center. Tickets are $5.00 each and are available at the door. Please join us for an afternoon of fun.
