ST. BARBARA SCHOOL

THURSDAY TIDBIT

Shining Stars for the Future
December 17, 2009

PRINCIPAL NOTES: To those families receiving the tidbit via email, this will be the last one. Beginning in the new year, we are going back to the old way of sending everyone a hard copy of the tidbit. The new method was not working well. Some people felt that they weren't kept informed as well with the emailed tidbit. Please keep in mind that the tidbit will still be posted on the school's website every Thursday (minus any students' names). Also, flyers will continue to be sent home only once, unless parents are able to have additional copies printed up outside of school.

Please check your child's folder for a letter coming home today under separate cover from the School Board. Also be sure to read my letter enclosed in today's tidbit.

Many thanks from Sr. Margaret for the $242 that was collected for the Adopt-a-Family fund by the 8th grade class! She is truly grateful for all that our school families do to help her in her ministry.

OUT-OF-UNIFORM: Tuesday, December 22nd, will be an out-of-uniform day. Students can wear green and red to celebrate the Christmas holidays! Jeans and gym shoes will be allowed. Any clothing with inappropriate wording, pictures, etc. is not allowed.

SAINT BARB'S BUZZ: Our Student Council will be selling the first edition of the Saint Barb's Buzz newspaper tomorrow, Friday December 18th, for 50 cents. This holiday edition will be filled with games, recipes, coloring pages, teacher interviews and much more! Grab your copy!

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: To celebrate the Christmas season as a school, we will have an all-school Christmas Program on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the church. All of the children in the school participate. The children will need to arrive at 6:45. Band members should be in church by 6:15. Mr. Enns will be looking for a few band members to help him move the music stands from the Music Room before and after the performance. The children in 1st through 8th grades will sit with their classes.  Kindergarten students should sit with their parents until called by their teacher. Preschoolers should meet in the children's room in the back of the church at 6:45.

I hope the children will dress in holiday clothes. Please have your children wear clothes that they might wear to Church or out to a family celebration. Jeans and gym shoes are not to be worn this evening. Girls can wear a dress, skirt or nice pants and a top. Boys may wear nice pants, including their school pants, and a nice shirt or sweater, or a suit.

As always, we would appreciate all picture taking and/or videotaping to take place from the back of the church or from the pew in which you are seated. Aisles need to remain clear at all times. As a courtesy to those videotaping, please try to refrain from talking. Also, please remember that this is a performance and we should respect that by remaining quiet. Out of respect for all the students, it would be greatly appreciated if you would stay for the entire show. Thank you for your cooperation!

We have been practicing and we look forward to being able to share our musical expression of love with all of you. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me.
