PRINCIPAL NOTES: Please join us in church each Friday night at 6:45 during the Lenten season for the Stations of the Cross followed by an interesting presentation. Tomorrow's topic is Celebrating - Why do we have seven sacraments? Mark your calendars for our next fish fry on March 5th, from 4-8pm!

Please do not park in the parking lot behind the school. This lot is for employees. Thank you for your consideration.

The collection boxes from Sr. Kathy B. to benefit her ministry with Taller de Jose are due tomorrow. Sr. B. thanks you in advance for your support.

LIVING STATIONS DEVOTION: Living Stations of the Cross, this year, will be offered on Good Friday at 11am. To create this exciting 'way of the cross', we encourage all of our School, Religious Ed, Hispanic and Church families to participate in this extraordinary production. All help is needed including actors, costumes, production crews... Please join us on Wednesday evenings, during Lent, in Church from 7:30pm-8:30pm and be an active part of this devotion. PLEASE BE ADVISED: Report cards will be issued on Friday, March 5th. The St. Barbara Tuition Policy states (in the Parent/Student Handbook) that monthly payments are due on the 17th of each month and that report cards will be distributed in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trimesters provided tuition payments are current. TERRA NOVA TESTING will begin Monday through March 12th for students in grades 2, 3, 5 and 7. Barring any illness, please do not schedule doctor appointments, trips, etc. during this time, as it is very important that the students are in school for testing.

JUMP ROPE / HOOPS FOR HEART events held during gym class conclude today. We are still accepting donations/pledges until Wednesday, March 3rd. Thank you for your support.

DR. SEUSS DAY! The entire school will celebrate the birthday of author Theodore Geisel, the creator of Dr. Seuss, with Silly Hat Day on Monday, March 2nd. Bring a silly hat to school to wear the whole day to honor this wonderful author.

ATTENTION STUDENTS: The school store is back!! This year, the school store will be run by the Student Council, with all of the profits going towards the various events and activities run by Student Council throughout the school year. They will be selling school supplies to the students every Monday morning.  The store will be open from 8:45 - 9:25. The GRAND OPENING of "SUPPLIES-R-US" will be Monday, March 1st!

TALENT SHOW!!! Plan on attending tomorrow, February 26th, at 6:30pm. Participants, please arrive at 6pm. Don't miss out on all the great acts, The St. Barbara's Stars have been working hard!!

TUITION REDUCTION PROGRAM (TRP/MANNA) NEWS:  There is still time to earn your tuition credit. Purchase those certificates, and with each purchase, you get money off your tuition! Sign up to sell certificates after masses and earn MORE credit.  It works just like cash!  So get into that mind set, if I don't have a certificate, I don't buy it. In this economy your money MUST work for you.  Can't get ahead?  Use your tax return to help you get started.  Need help figuring out the program and how it can work for you? I can help; just give me a call and I will talk you through it. Maybe if we get a group, we'll have TRP coffee J.  Call Cathy K. for more info.  I WANT YOUR TUITION TO BE LOWER, but you have to make it happen.

MARKET DAY NEWS: This Saturday, February 27th is our Market Day pickup.  Please note that Market Day has been MOVED TO THE WINDEMERE ROOM for this Saturday.  Our scheduled helpers this month are the 4th grade families.  Volunteers: please arrive at 9:15 in the Windemere Room.  We appreciate our volunteers and our customers!  See enclosed flier regarding the big FREE MARKET DAY FOOD gift card drawing!  Will you be our lucky winner this Saturday???

8TH GRADE NEWS: Coming up on Saturday, March 6th, the Confirmation class of 2010 will participate in an off-site retreat in Frankfort, Illinois. Letters were sent home detailing what to expect with this special retreat. Permission slips were due Wednesday, February 24th. If you have not returned your permissions slip, kindly do so ASAP.

YEARBOOK INFO: Yearbook volunteers- PLEASE take note that there are only 29 days left until the yearbook pages are due (Friday, March 26th.) I will be outside of school to accept those that morning. Those of you with sports pages- those team pictures will be back the middle of March. I realize the turn around time for those is short, but please make it happen. Any pages that are of events that are happening after the March 26th deadline, you have been given your deadlines. Keep snapping those pictures; I am sure this yearbook will be beautiful. Also, see enclosed schedule for the sports pictures set for this coming Saturday, Feb. 27th, ***please note the change in location. Questions, call Cathy K.  

MISSING FROM EXTENDED DAY: Lego Star Wars, The Complete Saga DSi game. Parents, please ask your child to check to see if perhaps this game was left in their system or their case last Friday. The students were all sharing and the game didn't get back to the rightful owner.

BOXTOPS CONTEST: Don't forget to send in your Boxtops, Campbells labels and milk caps! The final collection and end of contest is tomorrow, February 26th. There is sure to be a nice surprise to the winning class! Thanks! Any questions, please contact Liz K. 

JUST A REMINDER...Girl Scout Sunday - March 7th: All St. Barbara Girl Scouts, adults and girls and their families are invited to join us, next Sunday, March 7th at the 9:15am Mass.  Pews will be reserved and girls should sit with their families.  Girls are welcome to wear their uniforms or their vest/sashes.  We will be having a continental breakfast following mass for the Girl Scouts and their families, in the Windemere Room.  Any questions regarding Girl Scouting at St. Barbara's, please call Marge S.

FLOOR HOCKEY NIGHT:  Boys in Kindergarten - 4th grade are invited to join Cub Scout Pack 59 for a night of floor hockey.  Monday, March 1st, 6:30-7:30, in the Windemere Room.  Come see what Cub Scouts is all about and have some fun!  Contact Lisa P. [] for more information.
