PRINCIPAL NOTES: We will notify you in the future via the Thursday Tidbit as to when we will be attending morning Mass.

The Family List is coming home today under separate cover to those families who chose to be included in the list. Please keep it in a safe place.

Please be sure to read the letter coming home today under separate cover regarding requirements for selling tickets for our Annual School Raffle.

Next Monday is the Police Blessing at 8:30 a.m. All those in law enforcement are most welcome to join us.

If your child goes to Extended Day after school, please be sure to send a snack along with a juice box or water bottle with them. It’s a very long day for the students and they need the nourishment.

I am happy to inform you that through your shopping sprees, and choosing our school to benefit each time you use your Target charge card, St. Barbara School has received a check in the amount of $380.66 from Target.

Oktoberfest will be here before you know it! Think about getting a table of friends together and joining us for a night of fun and entertainment. See enclosed flyer for more information.

Congratulations to [ ] this month’s cash raffle winner. Her ticket was purchased at Bingo!

CONGRATULATIONS to the following St. Barbara School students who successfully completed the summer reading program at the Brookfield Public Library [ ] We are very proud of all of you!

RECONCILIATION MEETING will be held on Thursday, September 27th and will begin at 7:30 p.m. This meeting is for the parents of students who will be receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Monday, November 26th.

WORLD’S FINEST CHOCOLATE SALES: Please pick up your chocolates on Thursday, September 27th or Friday, September 28th. I will be in the Windemere room right after school from 2:30pm to 3:30pm both days. If you are unable to pick up your chocolates either day please let me know. An official letter will come home early next week.

BEARS vs LIONS FUNDRAISER: "SAVE THE DATE" Sunday October 28th @12pm. Come join us for a few brats and beers to watch the Bears take on the Lions. Details are being worked out but it will be shown in the Parish Center and it will be a fundraiser for the School.

ST. BARBARA “KNIGHT” HOODIES: Order your St. Barbara "Knight" Hoodie before the cool weather sets in! An order form is included in this week’s tidbit and a sample is located in the office.

DUNKIN DONUTS COFFEE order forms are in today's tidbit.

YEARBOOK VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers are still needed for Art/Gym, Music/Computer and Junior Varsity Boys Basketball. If volunteers are not found ASAP, these pages will not be represented in the yearbook as they have been in the past.

Life Night III Youth Rally featuring Jason Evert… Romance Without Regret

Back by popular demand, Jason makes his third visit to Chicago in as many years. Jason is a nationally renowned chastity speaker who can deliver the message like no one else can. His powerful and dynamic presentation leaves teens inspired and energized. Come Saturday, September 30, from 5pm-8:30pm to Our Lady of the Wayside Parish,434 W. Park St., Arlington Heights. Admission is free. Music by DJ&MC plus free food and give-aways. Also featuring Rob Kaczmark, Host/director of Spirit Juice.

Jason will also be doing evening presentations at the following parishes, for more information and starting times see www.respectlifechicago.com. The target audience is mature 8th graders and older.

MANNA CERTIFICATE PROGRAM: Five new families joined the program this week! Let's keep it going and add more next week!

A reminder that all orders MUST be turned in on time (Mondays by 9:00 am or Tuesdays by 9:00 am when we are closed on Monday) or your order will be held until the following week. Please make sure your child knows to check his/her backpack to make sure it is empty of all items that need to get to the office.

MARKET DAY NEWS: Reminder: Market Day pick up is this Saturday, September 22nd from 10:30-11:00 in Prairie Rooms A&B in the Parish Center. Our helpers for this month are the 5th grade and Preschool families. Helpers can meet us in the Parish Center at 9:45. Thank You!

FSA NEWS: Family School Association is hosting two great events tomorrow! Our yearbook signing party runs from 2:24-4:00; and the return of Jr. High Trivia starts at 6:30. See you there!

HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL IS COMING TO ST. BARBARA: Mark your calendar for Friday, October 26th from 6-9pm. Raffles, carnival games, jail house, trading post, craft center and more. Fun for the whole family…Dinner will be available for purchase along with some great treats.

BINGO NEWS: The following families are scheduled to work the October 12th Bingo. [ ] Thanks a Bunch to everyone who helped out at the Sept Bingo!!!

BOX TOPS NEWS: Tomorrow (Friday 9/21) is the FIRST COLLECTION for our St. Barb's World Series - North vs. South. Box Tops for Education Book Club orders and payments are also DUE TOMORROW, Friday 9/21. Please save your receipts from any KEMP's products you purchase and send them to school. We can earn an EXTRA 5 cents for each KEMP's item on a receipt dated Sept. 1st to Oct. 31st. Thank you.
