PRINCIPAL NOTES: The weekly Friday morning Mass will resume beginning tomorrow. Students should be in their classrooms by 7:50 every Friday so they can walk over to church together with their teacher. Parents and friends, please feel most welcome to join us!
Our Christmas Program has been moved to Thursday, December 20th at 6:30 p.m. Please correct this date on your school calendar. There will be a full day of school on Friday, December 21st.
The special blessing for all firefighters/paramedics will be Tuesday, October 9th at 8:30 a.m. in front of the school. The Brookfield Fire Department will be present and we welcome any other firefighters/paramedics who wish to join us.
As a parent/guardian of school children in St. Barbara School, we encourage you to become more informed about how to prevent sexual abuse of children. As a volunteer at St. Barbara School, you are required to attend a Virtus session if you have not already done so. Divine Providence School is holding a training session on Saturday, October 13th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00. If this location and/or day-time isn’t convenient for you, you can find a list of other schools who will be holding training sessions. Registration for all training sessions must be completed online. 4. Click on Start Registration and follow the registration instructions.
STUDENT COUNCIL: Our Student Council has been elected! We would like to congratulate the following students who will serve on Student Council this whole school year: [ ] ! Thank you for giving your time to make our school safe and fun for everyone!

BEGINNING BAND OPEN HOUSE: An open house for students who are interested in beginning Band along with their parents is this Tuesday, Oct. 2nd from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Parents can come at their convenience to receive information about band and to rent an instrument. Band is open to all 4th – 8th graders.
GOLD C BOOKS: New families should send in the $10 payment for the Gold C Book or return the unwanted book by next week.
FUN LUNCH FUNDRAISER: We will again be serving Home Run Inn pizza on October 15th. Order forms were sent home with each student today and are due back in the office on October 10th. If your child missed the last pizza date due to absence, a credit form has been issued.
RON SANTO JUVENILE DIABETES RESEARCH FOUNDATION WALK TO CURE DIABETES: I write to ask for your support for [ ] , Class of 2007, and [ ], Class of 2006, who suffer from Type 1 Insulin Dependent Juvenile Diabetes. We will be holding an out-of-uniform day on Wednesday, October 10, 2007, to raise donations for the JDRF Ron Santo diabetes walk, which takes place on Sunday, October 14, 2007. Everyone who donates at least $0.50 will be able to be out of uniform. Please consider making a family donation…and come and walk with us.
HALLOWEEN CARNIVAL IS COMING TO ST BARBARA: Mark your calendar for Friday, October 26th from 6-9pm. Raffles, carnival games, jail house, trading post, craft center and more. Fun for the whole family…Dinner will be available for purchase along with some great treats.

MARKET DAY NEWS: THANK YOU to the preschool families, 5th grade families, and other great volunteers who joined us Saturday for an awesome sale! It was nice to meet some of our new families! [ ] Our next sale date is October 20th! Look for your Market Day flyer coming home.
FSA NEWS: Jr. High Trivia ROCKS! We want to thank the volunteers who helped make the evening run smooth. A good time was had by all - and more to come! Also, don't forget that Adult Trivia is coming October 13th!
PHANTOM OF THE OPERA: Anyone interested in attending, please send in your form ASAP. It is sure to be a great performance. We have reserved only 50 tickets, so it will be a first come/first served basis. We may look into chartering a bus if the cost of parking exceeds the cost of the bus. Payment must accompany form and be payable to Russ Jablonski. Also, please note the TIME CHANGE. Thank You!
