ST. BARBARA SCHOOL
THURSDAY TIDBIT
October 11, 2007
PRINCIPAL NOTES: We are looking for someone to take over updating our school sign outside the building in order to keep people informed of the happenings around the school and parish. If you are willing to do it, please call the school office.
I know it’s easy to get caught up in visiting with friends, but parents, please keep a close watch on your children when you are standing outside the school to keep them safe around traffic. Also, you shouldn’t leave small children unattended in your vehicle in the parish center parking lot.
Remember to keep Thursday, November 8th open for Parent Teacher Conferences. Each student will be bringing home a letter today regarding these conferences. Please return the bottom portion ASAP to help in the scheduling.
We will have our yearly Halloween parade around the block on October 31st at 11:00. As in the past, we are encouraging all students to dress in costume on this day. If you are not in costume, please wear something showing the Halloween spirit. This will be a half day of school. Parents are most welcome to dress up and join us in the parade and/or the “Trunk or Treat”!
It’s not too late to purchase your ticket for St. Barbara’s Oktoberfest to be held on Saturday, October 20th. The price will go up to $25 after October 13th, so don’t wait too long!
OCTOBER IS RESPECT LIFE MONTH "Every human life is sacred and a unique gift, and during this Respect Life month, I invite you to not just respect life, but to love it and defend it! If there's something in the Church's teachings on life issues that you don't agree with, then give the Church a chance by examining why She teaches as She does. You might be surprised by what you learn. But don't do it for the sake of the Church. Do it for yourself. You are too precious in God's eyes not to." Rev. Timothy Reid, homily, St. Matthew Catholic Church, Charlotte, N.C., Oct. 1, 2006. (See: http://www.nccbuscc.org/prolife/) Stop by the Respect Life information tables in church at all the masses October 20 & 21 for a large selection of pamplets on life topics.
LIFETOUCH CLASS PICTURES: A reminder that class pictures will be taken tomorrow. This is a dress up out-of-uniform day.
