PRINCIPAL NOTES: Please join our school children on Tuesday, November 20th at the Thanksgiving Prayer Service at 9:00 a.m. in the church.
Our FSA is busy planning fun activities for our school children. Please come to an FSA meeting and see what they’re all about! Any ideas or suggestions you may have are welcome! The next meeting will be on Monday, December 10th in the Faculty Room.
The 8th grade retreat has been moved from Friday, February 29th to Tuesday, February 26th.
Sr. Margaret is always in need of food donations throughout the year. Anytime you have any donations to make, please know that they can be dropped off at the school.
Remember there is no school tomorrow (Nov. 16th) due to a Teacher Institute Day.
Because we only have school on Monday and Tuesday of next week, we will not be having a tidbit. Watch your child’s folder for any information that may come home under separate cover.
TRANSPORTATION REIMBURSEMENT: Children who live less than 1 1/2 miles from school but have to cross a busy street, railroad tracks, or walk by a street without sidewalks may be eligible for a refund of some of their parent’s transportation costs. Starting November 1st, parents may apply. Forms must be completed and returned/mailed to the REO office by February 1st.
Families who will be applying for a serious safety hazard can download the form by going online to www.cook.k12.il.us , under REO Site Map click on ROEC Services and choose Serious Safety Hazard from the drop down screen. You may also call the REO office at 708-865-9330 and ask them to mail you a form.
FSA NEWS: The Family School Association is sponsoring a Christmas wreath sale again this year. Look for enclosed flyer offering a great selection and even GREATER PRICES! You can't beat the quality of these products! Remember that orders are due Monday, November 19th - so please place your orders fast!
PICTURE RETAKES: Picture retakes will be on Tuesday, December 11th. Any student that did not have their picture taken in October will need to have it taken at that time. If you wish to order pictures, your child will need to have their order form (available in the school office) and payment with them when their picture is being taken in order for Lifetouch to print the package. Otherwise, your child’s picture will be taken only for use in the classroom composite. If you wish to have retakes, your child must have their portrait package with them. Only those students having their picture taken will be allowed out-of-uniform in dress clothes on retake day. Any PS-3 students needing retakes should be in the Windemere Room by 8:30 am.
LUNCH NEWS: Just a reminder that all orders, for both hot lunch and Home Run Inn pizza day, are due in the office on this coming Wednesday. Late orders will be returned. Thanks.
MANNA CERTIFICATE PROGRAM: Effective immediately, Quiznos Sub certificates are no longer available.
MARKET DAY NEWS: Reminder, Market Day pick-up is this Saturday, November 17th in the Windemere Room from 10:30-11:00. This month's helpers are the 8th grade families. Volunteers, please arrive in the Windemere Room at 9:45 to assist. Thank you!
FOOTSTEPS FOR MARIA: Thanks to all of you for contributing to our fundraising efforts. Our students and parents, donated $351.18 to our "Out of Uniform" day, raising our team total to exceed our $2,000.00 goal!!! Garfield & Hippy Bunny Beanie Babies and Asthma Walk whistles and pencils are still available. Please contact me if you would like any of these to continue to raise our contributions.
BOX TOPS UPDATE: Just a reminder that the Box Tops, Campbell’s, Tyson and milk caps contest, “A Turkey Buck” ends on Tuesday Nov. 20th. The classroom with the highest average of items collected per student will earn an Out of Uniform Day. There’s another collection sheet in today’s tidbit.
Also, thank you to the families that placed orders from the October Box Tops for Education Book Club. We earned an additional 101 Box Tops.
